19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in that event in the past months.
His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour victory, took control to force a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
