In a unexpected crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine cult.

The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Changes

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Material

Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana in addition to numerous items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
